Khaya Woodworks

Why Khaya?

Khaya, also known as African mahogany, was the type of wood that I used to make the first piece of furniture (a craftsman style night stand) for my wife when we were still dating. It also happens to mean "home" in Zulu which is significant for her as she spent her formative years in South Africa.

We now have a little one, and are thrilled to be back on the island where I grew up, making our home (both personal and professional), right here.

I look forward to sharing our stories of home, and becoming a part of yours by working with you to craft heirloom pieces that contribute to your sense of place and home.
